My recent stay at The Westin Langkawi was a gift of love for my parents to celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary. Together with my 4 year old niece, Maryam, they were extremely excited when I told them that the highlight of the trip would not be the aerial display at LIMA'17, but the five star hotel we would stay in Langkawi. We checked in on 25th March 2017 and were so blown away with the beauty of the resort. The traditional Minangkabau clay roof style was creatively detailed to make the resort an icon in the island. From the moment we stepped into the resort, we were welcomed with the most genuine beautiful smiles by all the hotel personnel. We were deeply honoured to be greeted by Mr. Effendi, the Director of Rooms and Mr. Wenzel, the Front Office Manager. Instead of queuing at the front desk to check-in, the gentlemen led me to Breeze where my check in procedure was done in a breeze by Miss Syamsinar, the Guest Service Agent. It was a sunny day so we were delighted to be presented with a cold towel and a very refreshing welcome drink. Before we could take our next sip, a masseuse came over to massage our shoulders, definitely a great introduction to how good the spa experience would be. We were then ushered to the room by Mr. Effendi, Mr. Wenzel and Miss Syamsinar. They certainly set an even higher standard to the well-known Westin hospitality. The moment we opened the majestic door of our Renewal Suite, our jaws literally dropped in amazement to see how beautiful the suite was. Luxury at its best! Our lavish two-bedroom ocean front suite promoted relaxes and rejuvenation, whilst we took in the spectacular view and enjoyed the sea breeze from our private balcony. The suite was personalized with welcome cards and rose petals, a bottle of sparkling water, a huge fruit baskets, some pastries, coffee, tea, juices and some sweets and chocolate for little Maryam. Impressive! Our Westin experience was filled with many beautiful moments. The award winning infinity pool was so inviting, but being a good aunty, I spent most of my time at the kid’s pool where I had a hard time everytime I needed to drag Maryam out as it was so much fun. On our first night there, we were invited to join in the resort's Earth Hour celebration at Breeze. Breeze also served as a great place to slow down and relax our mind and we enjoyed the outstanding live band performance of renowned Indonesian band, De Java. The buffet breakfast in Seasonal Tastes was totally one of a kind where the buffet tables were lined with both local and international dishes that emphasized “Superfood” –known for being health-enhancing and rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients. It was at the same restaurant that we had the best Chinese and Japanese buffet dinner on the second night. When we returned to our suite, we were pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful wedding anniversary cake for my parents delivered secretly by Mr. Rafizal, another outstanding hotel personnel who gave us a top-notch service with his warmth and friendliness. In a nutshell, we experienced luxurious refinement, personalized service and world-class facilities at The Westin Langkawi. The Westin associates, led by the very dedicated hotel manager, Mr. Rajiv were all excellent without exception, efficient, friendly, and willing to do the extra, and sometimes unexpected, things that made the stay even more special. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, The Westin Langkawi.
